Drawing is a discipline. A pure exercise of coordination between the hands and the eyes. At first, the eyes see it but the hand does not do it. I imagine that it will take a life time of commitment before one can master drawing. To begin, I search for forms and the directions of the forms, using pure lines as in the tradition of the Chinese, Hokusai, and Utomaro . At the end, drawing becomes a matter of abstraction and empathy.
