AAWAA provides various working and learning opportunities for college interns in business administration, strategic planning, marketing, publicity and fundraise.

Position Title

Graduate or under-graduate Interns 1. for strategic planning person 2. researcher on specific website for Board Development.

Number of Opening: 2

Approximate hours per week: flexhible and negotiable. Project based (20 - 40 hours).

Salary Range: Non-paid but will pay travel expense.

Company Description

Asian American Women Artists Alliance is a non-profit 501(C) 3 organization on behalf of emerging and established Asian American women in the Arts. Membership is open to all outside artists regardless of and does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, and physical disability. AAWAA provides opportunities to increase exposure and to educate the general public about this community's unique contributions to the arts in New York City.

Qualification

Experience working in strategic planning and/or for a small non-profit is helpful, but not mandatory. Creative thinking is a must.
Position is short-term ( 20-40 hours.)

Job Description

  1. A strategic planner to work with consultants along with AAWAA Board of directors to form short term and long term goals.
  2. To research on specific website to find a candidate with knowledge of strategic planning to come on board of the Asian American Women Artists Alliance. Work includes phone calls or emails to potential candidates. Set up meeting for both sides to meet. The intern hired could also be part of our strategic planning team, working with consultant if he or she chooses to, for learning experience. If the intern finds a candidate to come on AAWAA Board we will pay an honorarium of $400.
