Mija Jung Bryen was born in 1970 in Korea. She received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Painting in Hong Ik University in Seoul, Korea, and then an MFA at Rutgers in the United States during the ‘90s. Seven years ago Mija transitioned into photography. For her, photography is like painting. She has recreated her own concept of space in the digital artwork she produces, to appropriate her problems in life and art. Her photographs are challenging and promising in the new age of digital media, balancing method with philosophy. Mija now lives with her husband on New York’s Lower East Side.
