Seema Christie
Seema Christie is a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York. Her paintings of decorative patterns, color and design are inspired by her Indian American heritage as well as her ongoing life practice of yoga, meditation and holistic healing. The release of ego and mind guides her into the art making process as she follows the guiding energy with her paintbrush. An image emerges and gradually unfolds onto the surface as she opens herself to intuition and non-judgment. Her patterns are meditative mark-makings, and the temporary nature of life is reflected in her use of simple materials such as tempera and paper. Her work is an expression of spirit, and she conveys the divine through the gift of creation as her primary goal. Seema hopes to share this spirit in the healing form of painting and that the creative energy in her work can translate empowerment, love and peace for ourselves and world community.
