Suejin Jo
Suejin Jo was born in Seoul, Korea. She has lived and worked in New York
since 1964. Ms. Jo studied at the Art Students League for four years with
Vaclav Vytlacil, Theodoros Stamos and Leo Manso. She won the McDowell
Grant and traveled in Europe for a year. Her work reflects her obsession
with the idea of synthesis—to bring together two opposite elements
and create a harmonious whole. Ms. Jo has had many solo and group shows
in Soho, Long Island, at the Paterson Museum in New Jersey and in Seoul,
Korea. She served as a member of the Board of Control at the Arts Students
League for three years.
