Hee Sung Yang
Born in Korea in 1965, Hee Sung Yang received her MFA from Hong-ik University
in Korea. She earned an MFA in 1996 from Pratt Institute. Her immediate
environment informs her art making: marks, scribbles, and scratches found
on sidewalks, abandoned buildings and subway stations. To her, they are
reminiscent of the marks made on mountains and rocks by ancient peoples.
