Acknowledgements

I am indebted to many of our current members who unselfishly volunteered time and energy to all phases of our undertaking in order to make this exhibition possible. Special thanks to the following members: Patty Kim for lending her creativity to the design of the invitation; Candace Hsiao and friends who were instrumental in putting our first online catalog together last year and launched this year's online catalog on July 18, on time for the opening of our exhibition; Terumi Kaneyasu for her unrelenting support; the Curatorial Committee- Chie Nishio, Ellen Hsiao, Paula DeLuccia,, Suejin Jo, and Jacie Lee Almira who worked with me to select artwork for the exhibit; Amy Cheng and Ella Yang for their editorial assistance; Yvette Castro and Fannie Lee who spent hours organizing and putting exhibition-related information in our computers. Finally, I want to acknowledge Tocha Alberts for his assistance with installing the show.

A special thanks goes to the Phoenix Gallery who supported us by being a conduit for the grant application to the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and consequently secured the funding we needed for the exhibition.

Without the generous funding from the Fund for Creative Communities/New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program, administered by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, this exhibition could not have been realized.

Finally, I would like to comment that the exhibition catalog not only documents AAWAA's efforts in supporting underrepresented women artists, but also serves as a literary forum for the Asian American experience. This year the literary contributions include an essay by Anna Song and a short story by Luo Meng.
